Does this even count as painting?
I'd like to challenge the 'traditional mentality' of what counts as art and what doesn't quite count. I am tired of people saying 'tracing isn't real art', or copying characters or figures from TV shows 'is not real art', and so on and so on.
What I am about to do in this video wouldn't qualify as 'real art' if you went by those rules. Is it painting? No. Is it drawing? No again, not quite. But you used Photoshop? Yes, that's right, but it's not digital art.
This notion puts the idea of art 'categories' on it's head. I think that those traditionally upheld ideas are so often harmful to people who are just trying their best to get started or get into something that they are not exceptional at yet.
