Using the gel plate as a surface to blend colors helps to expand the possibilities that these four colors can make when mixed and rolled out.

When going in deep on a color study, especially for mixed media, it’s a really good idea to use the materials in different ways and with different mediums.

In the first video we mixed the colors.
In the second video we painted papers with the colors.
In the third video we painted on tissue paper using a lot of water.
And now, we are using the gel plate to push the color study into new directions.

I hope this series encourages you to expand your color studies beyond just color mixing.
