Roblox is getting in on e-commerce with Walmart! The online gaming platform is launching an e-commerce experience that will allow Roblox players to buy real-life products from Walmart! Roblox players will be able to view and try virtual items in Walmart’s digital storefront before purchasing the products for delivery, and they will also receive a “digital twin” of each item in Roblox. Walmart’s virtual store inside of the Roblox Walmart Discovered experience is a pilot test that will operate through the end of May in order to help Roblox understand its users’ shopping preferences. If the pilot goes well, other types of ecommerce could be coming to other Roblox experiences!
