As you may already know, YouTube (for some reason) does not allow you to change Shorts thumbnails on your PC or Mac via the web dashboard. Additionally, YouTube does not provide an option to upload a custom thumbnail image.
So what you need to do:
1. Open YouTube app on your Smartphone.
2. Click on Your videos.
3. Filter by Shorts.
4. Click on edit.
5. Then in upper left corner click on pencil icon (✏️).
6. Then you can only change thumbnail to one of your frames in your video by sliding left or right and finding the best look.
