Trokhin, the commander of the intelligence group, which is operating in Frankfurt an dem Oder, receives a new order – to urgently bring the head of the laboratory "Auerge" Guts to Moscow. Having received the task, Vlad persuades Katerina to take Guts out of the protected building, promising to snatch her from the clutches of the Nazis and smuggle her to a secure place.
The operation to capture Guts is about to fail: despite the fact that his records are in hands of intelligence, he is critically wounded. Vlad suggests Trokhin not to remove Katerina as planned at the beginning of the operation, and to send her to Moscow, so she can help to decode the notes of Guts.
