Greg Van Avermaet beats Peter Sagan to Tirreno-Adriatico title
Greg Van Avermaet beat Peter Sagan to overall victory at Tirreno-Adriatico by one second as Fabian Cancellara won stage seven.
Sagan (Tinkoff) trailed overnight leader Van Avermaet (BMC Racing) by eight seconds going into the flat, 10km time trial in San Benedetto de Tronto but could only beat the Belgian by seven seconds on the day.
It was the biggest stage-race win of Van Avermaet's career and his third victory of the season
