The pandemic has been hard on most of us, and a majority of the people (mostly women) took a break to take care of the family or people got laid off.
Now finally, the job market is picking up and you're are starting to apply for jobs. During the interview, they ask you to explain the gap in your resume and you don’t know how to respond!
This is one common question you are gonna get, especially right now in the post covid era.
👉🏾Here are five ways to successfully answer it
1️⃣The first thing you could say is, “I took a mental break because covid is hard on everyone."
2️⃣The second thing you can talk about it, just say, “I had to take a personal leave of absence”
3️⃣The third thing you could say is, “I took this time to retool my skill sets and take a lot of courses and certifications,”
4️⃣The fourth thing you could say is you just had bonding time with your family
5️⃣The fifth way to answer that question could be, “I tried a side hustle and I learned a lot.”
💪🏾So those are five ways you can successfully answer that question. Explain your gap in your resume.
