Senchurutti, also known as Janjhuti, is one of the oldest Ragas in Carnatic music, typically performed in the concluding segment of concerts.
Like many ancient Ragas, it appears to have evolved over the years through distinctive musical phrases (Sanchara-s) rather than just linear Svara orders. Its contours reveal uniquely rich and expansive phrases, offering innumerable possibilities for exploration.
Here is a presentation of excerpts from a few compositions, along with a brief expression of the Raga through Thanam and a Shloka from "Sri Krishna Karnamritham".
1. Ganeshakumara Pahimam- Adi - Muthuswamy Dikshitar
2. Sharanu Sharanu - Rupakam - Anai Ayya

4. Thiruppugazh- Khanda Chapu - Arunagirinathar
5. Kaliyugadolu Hari Namava Nenedare- Adi - Purandaradasa
