Devils Punchbowl Waterfall | One of the best waterfalls in New Zealand
The Devil’s Punchbowl Waterfall is one of the best waterfalls in New Zealand. It's located in heart of Arthur’s Pass National Park.
If you’re starting from Christchurch, it’s a 2 hour drive to the Devil’s Punchbowl Fall.
The hike to Devil’s Punchbowl Waterfall is a short and steep climb through a beech forest, with quite a few steps. There is a good chance you'll see kea, the mischievous mountain parrot, and hear great spotted kiwi at night.
You can take the path all the way up to the base of the falls (highly recommended) for an amazing look.
The powerful waterfall drops 131 meters (430 feet), and it has a strong flow all year round.
