Derecho moves through Midwest Thursday
A long-track damaging wind event, known as a #derecho, moved through the Midwest Thursday June 29, 2023. Top gusts reached 90mph as the storm traversed more than 500 miles from Nebraska into Indiana.
The storm left 500,000 customers in the dark, especially in hardest-hit Illinois and Indiana.
