"Hello World" is a programmers' meme - the first program you write in any new language. Here I introduce the "print" statement and show you how to create a simple program files with the required instructions. The file can then be run using the Python interpreter, resulting in a cheerful greeting!
This demonstration is done using a Unix terminal accessed through the Jupyter notebook interface, but the same concepts apply to any installation of Python. For more information, see the notebooks below (notebooks will open on Google Colab - no installation required)
