In this lesson we will have basic understanding of Masking or mask in Adobe After Effects. In After Effect, a mask is often a shape that reveals or conceals a particular region of a layer in your composition. You can reveal a particular portion or area of an image layer, footage layer, or even text layer with masking, making remaining portion of the layer hide but not deleted.
In this tutorial, we will learn how to apply a mask on a text layer, what are the functions of Add, subtract, intersection in mask layer, how to apply blending mode on a solid layer with mask, Revealing and hiding areas with masks in video, and how to animate a mask path to reveal anything underneath it.
