How to create Subtitles / Captions in Premiere Pro CC 2017

To create subtitles.

Go to the new item menu.

Click captions.

The new caption window will appear. Click open caption. this gives more customisation options.

Drag the caption over your clip and drag to length.

You need the caption window to edit the caption. If you do not have this it is in the window menu at the top of the screen.

Once in the caption window you can edit text and add new captions with the plus symbol.

To change the length or timing of the caption you can drag the tail out or in.

You can change the font.

Text size.

Outline of the text.

and Background colour. The idea for these tutorials is to help people gain more video and audio editing skills quickly without having to watch a 10-minute video every time they need to learn a new skill.
