A song written in response to the plan to station nuclear submarines in Japan in 1964 as part of the nationwide "U.S. nuclear submarines do not come!" (米原子力潜水艦来るな!) campaign. This occurred in the backdrop of the Anpo Struggle, a mass protest from the late 1950s to early 1970s against the US-Japan Security treaty, which allowed the opening of US military bases on Japanese soil. Protests against US military presence in the country have continued into the modern day, particularly in Okinawa where 70% of military bases are concentrated, taking up 25% of the island's land.

Performer: Central Chorus (中央合唱団)
Composer: Tadasuke Seki (関忠亮)
Lyricist: Saburo Akagi (赤木三郎)
Year written: 1964
Source: Flexi-disc "平和のうたごえを1000万人にひろげよう12"
Image: Massive protest in Okinawa opposing the US military, 2016. Large signs: "Remove All Military Bases!" (全米軍基地撤去!), small signs: "Our anger has reached its limit" (怒りは限界を超えた).
