Let's Learn How to Make 1-Bit Pixel Art! (NOKIA ART JAM 2)
I tried out making my first 1 Bit pixel art piece! While I've made sprites in many styles, I have not tried out the simplest style of all: 1-Bit! I made this for the Nokia Art Jam 2, which focuses on making pixel art at the resolution for the Nokia 3410. It is a very small resolution, but a fun one to work with. I decided to make a spiritual successor to the greatest game of the elder mobile phone generation: Snake II.
We also discuss techniques for pixel art, including dithering and the importance of using multiple layers while creating an image.
My pixel art app of choice is Pixaki, and I draw my concept art in Procreate.
