A somewhat forgotten first movie of the director Michael Winterbottom.
I watched it between Christmas and New Years Eve for a number of years. This is the story of two Scottish squadies off on leave to Budapest to see a concert by the band Simple Minds. It still contains magical scenes - this is one of them, set partly to the music of Rainbirds by Tom Waits.
Broke (Ewen Bremner) and Bunny (Brian McCardie) come across a benevolent 'snow queen' called Czilla (Zsuzsanna Várkonyi) - Great cast and a great forgotten film.
