Florida Sea Level Rise Visualization
This video shows the effect of sea level rise on US State Florida landscape. We know that the South Florida is one of the most effected place in the world when sea level rises. The sea level around Florida is up to 8 inches higher than it was in 1950. This increase is mostly due to ice melting into the ocean and, complicated by the porous limestone that the state sits on, it’s causing major issues.
Here in this simulation sea level rises from normal value to 100m above sea level. It shows elevation trends across the state. The elevation layered on the map is in meters and is from sea level. The elevation is zero for the sea level.
