I setup a startup routine to show me when the printer is fully booted up and ready to print. I also put in a party light mode that goes off when a print ends successfully. These techniques are simple once you understand the basics, and you can use them to make any controls you want.
STL for the mount:
The LED strip I used needed a lot of difficult soldering, so if you want to try a similar setup I would recommend an LED strip will less bulbs so you don't have to do as much soldering.
