Following the success of Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2, ISRO has launched Chandrayaan-3, a mission to further explore the Moon's surface. This mission was expected to focus solely on the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover components, aiming to achieve a soft landing on the Moon's surface.
Here are a upcoming missions that ISRO is working on:
Shukrayaan-1: Venus Orbiter Mission is ISRO's proposed Venus orbiter, intended to study the planet's surface, atmosphere, and its interactions with the solar wind. Shukrayaan-1 aims to understand the processes that have led to Venus's extreme greenhouse effect.
Mars Orbiter Mission 2 (MOM 2): ISRO has expressed interest in a follow-up Mars mission to build upon the success of the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) launched in 2013. MOM 2 would further explore Mars and potentially involve more advanced scientific instruments.
Aditya-L1 Mission: This is ISRO's solar mission aimed at studying the Sun's corona. Gaganyaan Mission: ISRO has been working on its ambitious crewed space mission, Gaganyaan, which aims to send Indian astronauts (Gagannauts) into space. The mission consists of a crewed spacecraft carrying 3 astronauts in low Earth orbit.
