Want to Get More People to Open Your Emails? Try This!
Studies of shown that emails with personalized subject lines can boost open rates by as much as 25%! In this Mailchimp Quick Tip, I show you how to easily add your contact's first name to the subject line of your campaign email. Let's do this!
First - review your audience list that you do have a field for first name and that your contacts have entered a first name. If there are some that don't, I strongly recommend that you add a Default value so that there won't be any blank names in the subject line.
Second - to add a contact's first name to the subject line, you insert what Mailchimp calls a Merge tag. The Merge tag represents (aka placeholder) the actual data of your contact. In this case, the first name.
Third - Enable Live Merge Tag in the Preview Mode of your campaign email to verify that the First name of your contacts is displayed in the subject line.
