In this video, we will show you how to upload on SoundCloud.
SoundCloud is an online music sharing platform where you can upload music, podcasts etc. To upload on SoundCloud, you need to create an account first. In the platform, you can easily upload audio files using the “Upload” option displayed here in the main menu.
Here, you can select the privacy settings of the track. Public means anyone can listen to your track. Private tracks are hidden from your followers. You can decide to share them exclusively via private links.
Let’s keep it public for now and upload a track. Here we are uploading an audio of a tutorial we previously uploaded on YouTube.
While uploading, you can enter more information about the track.
Track titles can be of maximum 100 characters. Currently sound cloud doesn’t support emojis.
You can select a Genre for the track. For example, here we will select the “Learning” option.
You can add images to the track as well. Keep in mind that the image file should be maximum 2 megabytes and for best results it should be a square image.
You can add tags to the track as well along with a detailed description.
In the Metadata section here, you can add a Buy link to allow listeners to purchase the track.
If the track is released under a record label, with a specific release date you can add both of these to the track here.
You can choose a License for your track, whether All Rights Reserved or available through Creative Commons. Both options are available here under the License section.
Furthermore, in the permissions tab you can choose to enable or disable direct downloads. Free users have a download limit of 100 downloads per track.
The Embed codes option allows your track to be shared to blogs and websites through SoundCloud’s embedded players.
If you would like to restrict playback of your track, you can choose to disable the app playback option. This means that your track will only be playable through SoundCloud, either through the website or wherever sound cloud players are embedded.
Once the track is uploaded, you can click on the Save button and since this track was public, you can immediately see it on the profile here.
That’s all!
