Dark Souls - NPC Death Quotes (Fighting All Friendly NPC's)
Not everyone says something if you die to them. I died to everybody in the video to make sure I got every quote I could. Also Big Hat Logan doesn't say shit when you hit him, only when you finally provoke him enough to fight. Personal favorite? "By the Lords" by sin forgiveness dude lmao. Did not enjoy killing the tutorial knight, Dusk, Elizabeth, Gough, the Pyromancers, Priscilla or Fair Lady. Tragic. Everybody else was sad too I guess but whatever. Fuck 'em.
What I went through to make this? Of course I'll tell. Here's some trivia for you! If you kill Dusk before going to Oolacile, the fucking sentient mushroom is already dead when you get there! Which will inspire you to decide 'eh, fuck the DLC characters then'. Until you can't help yourself and refuse to put out a half-assed video so go back with a different character to re-beat everything for the 3rd time. In the process I got to see what might happen if you do things slightly different, like attacking them in different areas, or letting myself die to characters I had forgotten to in the previous attempt. Only difference I found was patches. Not that I checked with every single character, I'm only human, I may have missed something, but anyway.
I didn't include Gwyndolin because A) Everyone has fought him already, it's a boss fight, who cares. That's more in the category of 'secret fight you didn't know about in Dark Souls' rather than fighting all NPC's, he's just a disembodied voice through the fog and B) He kind of starts that fight, so it's not really a friendly NPC Per Se. I'm not being lazy here I chose not to include him in the video. I actually did kill him to see what would happen if he was dead for the cut scene when you kill Gwynevere(which you see in the video, silence), I just think walking into a place he told you not to walk into to trigger a fight with him isn't a real friendly NPC interaction(totally ignoring the covenant). Like, that's a very easy thing for a player to do by mistake while not even trying to trigger a boss fight, even right after he tells you not to come in cause he's changing or whatever. I see a fog gate, I already hyped myself up to go through it and now I have to pay attention and stop right here? I mean, I listened my first play through, but still...easy mistake.
Idk, I put Gwyndolin in the same category as the bridge dragon. You don't have to fight them, but if you step in their imaginary circle they come at you throwing hands and shit. Priscilla falls into boss category as well but she's actually, actually friendly, for real. She literally begs you to leave in peace. No other boss arena you can just walk back out of without affecting your progression in the game.
