Well, it is time for the festive holiday and my last video of the year, and today we are looking at a Word Bearer Chaplain I converted from the recently released Black Templar Castellan miniature.
I wish you all a happy & peaceful festive holiday! 🎄
I do like the creative narrative that underpins the Horus Heresy, and I created a bit of backstory for this warrior explaining his unusual appearance and equipment.
"Zal Heloth, Chaplain of The Osseous Throne Chapter, Legio XVII "Word Bearers".
Wearing a suit of divergent MKV Armour at the time of the Shadow Crusade, this unconventional Son of Lorgar was not actually involved in the punitive war against the Empire of Ultramar.
Indeed, Heloth was no where near to the Imperium Secundus during this bloody rampage, instead serving as an envoy to the Night Lords legion. Even before the heresy, this towering Astartes (which pic-capture intel suggest was unusually tall) had served with Legio VIII as part of Erebus' plan to spread the seeds of sedition in the decades before the great rebellion began.
From what agents have determined, it appears that Zal went, for want of a better term, native and actively sought to avoid returning to his brothers in the Osseous Throne, wishing to remain within the ranks of the Night Lords. This affinity was clearly reciprocated as Heloth's presence was not only tolerated, but welcomed, with Word Bearer approaches as to his whereabouts being ignored or even rebuffed. He also became adept in Nostramen fighting styles, not least of which is evidenced by his Jump Pack, a piece of equipment not normally seen in a warrior's panoply outside of the Night Raptors.
As to what influence Heloth had upon his new brethren is pure speculation. Relief forces to locations he raided have reported finding unusual examples of Night Lords tarot markers left on the defiled remains of the dead. These grim tokens purportedly bore symbols of Colchisian origin alongside Nostramen devices, but no sample has ever been retrieved for analysis.
A renegade to not only the Imperium but also his own legion, Zal Heloth is an object of both intense curiosity and dark fear to those who stand against his schemes."
