Sightreading has ALWAYS been something I struggles with as a beginner pianist. Playing by ear came much more naturally, but learning to sightread was a real challenge.
The main issue (I realized later) was that I wasn't hitting the "Zone of Optimal Development". Basically it means to make fast progress you need challenges that:
1. Aren't so easy it doesn't push you
2. Aren't so hard you don't have a shot, and just get frustrated
I used to print random sheet music from the internet, and I'd almost always end up in one of the above two categories, and it SUCKED. I ALWAYS felt frustrated and like I was spinning my wheels. While my technique was making progress by leaps and bounds, my sightreading was just dragging along.
I WISH I'd had this tool when I was first starting off. You can literally set the EXACT level you need and systematically ramp up the sight reading difficulty.
And I'll show you at the END of the video the long-term "Sightreading Workout Plan" to speed your progress as much as possible, so stick around for that.
