A bit from the biography:
Yuri Nikolaevich Klinskikh (July 27, 1964, Voronezh, USSR - July 4, 2000, Voronezh, Russia), also known as Yuri Khoy, is a Soviet and Russian rock musician, singer, songwriter. Founder and permanent leader of the rock group Gaza Strip.
Yuri Klinskikh was born on July 27, 1964 in Voronezh in the family of an engineer of the Voronezh Aviation Plant Nikolai Mitrofanovich Klinskikh and his wife Maria Kuzminichna Klinskikh.
At school, Yuri did not stand out for anything special. Studied satisfactorily. He had an irresistible passion for music, but at the same time he did not receive a musical education. Passion for versification was instilled in him by his father, who wrote poetry and tried to publish. Yuri early learned about the existence of Western rock culture, since rock and roll often sounded in the Klinsky family. Shortly thereafter, he decided to learn the guitar on his own. Father's lessons were not in vain, so Yuri began to compose poems, from which the texts of his first songs were then formed.
In 1981, Yuri Klinskikh recorded an acoustic album on a tape recorder and partially re-recorded it in 1985. After the opening of the Voronezh rock club in 1987, he became a regular. On December 5, the club hosted a concert at which Yuri performed several songs of his own composition.
Yura:
"I wrote my first poem back at school, I remember something about spring. Then, before the army, I learned to play the guitar and tried to do something. But the songs were primitive, about love, all such trifles. Then, when I came from the army, I worked at the factory and didn’t think about anything. When the rock club opened, I looked at amateur groups, I didn’t like their poor in themes, I remember singing something about the world, about love, about something like that, incomprehensible. and decided to shake the old days. And since the experience had already remained, I began to get pretty good. Everyone liked it, and so it went ... "

At the dawn of his work, Yuri created for himself the image of a lone rebel and swearing. On stage, he knew how to transform - there he was uncompromising and tough, but in life he was kind and cheerful, a man of a big soul, but in aggregate he had powerful energy and charisma.
Yura:
"I never considered myself a punk. Well, maybe, at the beginning of my work, pure" punk "was seen somewhere. I do what I like. Each album is musically diverse."

During his creative career, Klinskikh never earned a lot of money due to the prosperity of "piracy", which affected the number of licensed discs sold, which is approximately 1% of the total. However, the group and its leader became quite famous in Russia and the CIS. Despite the fact that the group's later lyrics were more restrained, most fans and representatives of the music industry associated "Gas Sector" with obscene language and obscene songs.
During his creative activity, Yuri has been on tour in many cities of Russia and abroad (Belarus, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Ukraine, Estonia).
