Error: "Unrecognized Database Format." This error often means that your file got corrupted. Access will likely produce a new file next to the original file starting with Backup_. This means corruption is taking place. The Backup file is likely also corrupted. You can try the "Compact & Repair" feature under File - Info. Depending on the situation, you may have to start the project over by downloading your starter file from Pearson MyLab IT. To prevent this error, please save your Access file to the Desktop instead of My Documents. My Documents is a network shared drive, which means that file locking can be come a problem during database activity. You may see a number of other errors after the Unrecognized Database Format. If this is your situation, go back to Pearson and re-download the starter file and follow the #1 Best Practice above.
