Easiest Way To Restore ALL Your Data Into Your New iPhone from an iTunes Backup File using 3U Tools
If someone sent you an iTunes Backup File, this is the easiest way to restore that data into a new iPhone using 3u Tools on a Windows PC.
This method does not work on Mac, unfortunately. But comment below if you want me to make a tutorial on how to do this on a Macbook.
First step is to copy the backup file from the USB drive to your PC. I would recommend the Desktop so you can find it easy.
Then get 3u Tools from https://3u.com and install it. It's free!
Then get your new iPhone that has been wiped and set it up so you're at the home screen.
Please note, this process will overwrite all data that is currently on the phone. So make sure you don't have anything important on the phone before doing this.
Connect the phone to your PC trust it.
On 3u Tools, click the "Backup/Restore" button
Then click on View All Backups
Click on "Add Backups" and select the iTunes Backup File. It is a folder with a long name of just random numbers and letters.
Once it's added, select it from the list & click "Restore All Data".
If there's a backup password, try your pin code. If that doesn't work, contact your data recovery service provider.
DO NOT click the "Restore Apps" checkbox. Leave it unchecked.
Only select "Restore Application Data".
Then click "Start Recovery" and wait. It may take several hours, depending on how much data you have.
Once completed, you can follow the on screen instructions on the phone to finish the setup.
Then at the home screen, you can go to your iCloud & log in. That will then start the download of all your old apps.
And you're done!
