It’s a very simple technique using Sketchup, but hopefully it opens your mind to try some new dynamic, animated representations of your models.
I’m a big believer that you should try new things and stray away from what everyone else is doing, so hopefully this is something you can use to do that and inspires you to create some new ideas and ways to represent your concepts.
I used this method for my last Studio project called the “Earthbound Rocket Ship”. I received 2 High Distinctions for it. My lecturer even showed my work in one of the 5th year lectures as an example for them, and they said “you think we have time to do that?”.
If I can accredit the project’s success to any one thing, it would be the one method of animation taught in this 6 minute video, which will take you no more than 2 simple steps to replicate.
By trying something different, I was able to receive great results. And, you can too.
