The Prominent Rise and Drastic Fall of Japan Air System
The dynamic Japanese aviation industry has witnessed an abundance of airlines. As numerous low-cost carriers emerged, striving to challenge the supremacy of Japan's dominant aviation giants, namely All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines. At the end of the day, these two would always come out on top as the dominant carriers in Japan. However, before the 2000s, there was a third airline in the mix; this airline was Japan Air System. This airline would grow to become, at its peak, the third largest airline in Japan, behind All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines, and up until the turn of the century, things seemed to be going pretty well for them. But, unfortunately, the 21st century would prove to be the death of the airline and cause a very sharp decline, later resulting in its merger with Japan Airlines. But what caused this? How did an airline like Japan Air System compete with Japan's big two airlines and yet have such a horrible and fast downfall? This is the story of Japan Air System’s rise to power in Asia and, finally, their sudden collapse and eventual merger.
Hey Everyone! To start off the new year on a good foot, I bring to you another rise and fall video, this one covering a not-so-much talked-about airline, Japan Air System.
