How to Get Over Gear Fear in Escape From Tarkov
Many of us, especially early wipe, experience what is known as 'Gear Fear' - the mindset of not wanting to use better weapons and equipment in case we lose them. I conquered gear fear and hopefully, with this video, you (or a friend) can too.

Gear Fear is usually something that new players experience as they have not yet learned how to make money easily in Tarkov. It can be overwhelming and anxiety inducing when running meta weapons and equipment because you don't want to lose it. However, everything is replaceable. Every single item in Escape From Tarkov can be replaced! Focusing on the Tasks and Traders will earn you XP as well as unlock ammo, meds, weapons and gear you may not yet have access to. So you need to push through the struggle and learn the game, make mistakes (which we all do, I still do!) and try to be the best player you can be.
One of the best ways to overcome gear fear is to play with teammates, as you'll learn and become a better player whilst having fun with your friends. I recommend playing with the same players as much as you can, as you will develop skills and tactics between you which will help communication and improve your survival chances. Surviving in Tarkov will keep you in raid longer, staying alive and learning how to pick your fights will make you a better player. Sure you can run towards every gunshot and chase PvP, but you may find this drains your bank balance and burns through gear quickly. I find that running good gear but still being wary of my surroundings is the best combo for extracting with as much loot as possible.
At the end of the day, you will die a lot in Tarkov. It is a fundamental part of the experience. The sooner you understand and accept this, and start running ammo and equipment that will help you stay alive, the more fun you will have and the more enjoyment you will experience in game.
