I used the C chord with the pinky on the thin E string because that is what Lennon used on most live videos I've watched. Personally I think the Cadd9 chord sounds better and is easier to play. I put the Cadd9 in at 1:04 for you to see.
Also, you might notice that at 0:59, while I'm playing a C chord on my acoustic, the electric guitar in the background is doing a C7.
