In this video I travel north along Benin's border with Nigeria and visit the Holi Tribe. In addition to traditional tattoos, Holi women get deep scars on their faces when they are young. Women believe that the face scars increase their beauty and fertility. Though practice less with the newer generation, young girls still get their eyebrows drawn. After leaving the tribe, I visit the Holi village market. Only held once a week, this market is the melting pot of neighboring tribal villages. I check out the interesting items for sale, try some of their local delicacies and meet some friendly people. Enjoy!
