Eid ul Adha is the second Eid or festival in Islam, celebrated on the 10th of the Islamic month Dhul Hijja. This is the last day of Hajj, Pilgrimage to Mecca, and a Pillar in Islam.
Muslims will also sacrifice an animal in remembrance of Prophet Abraham (as) and his son Prophet Ishmael (as) who was willing to be sacrificed for Allah. This story can be found in the Holy Quran.
Another ritual of Hajj is to walk between the two hills, Safa and Marwa, as Hajra (as) did when she was desperate to find water for her young child. Learn also how the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) celebrated Eid ul Adha and how Muslims celebrate today.
