Belizeans can expect cool and wet weather over the next few days, as one cold front is dissipating and another is expected to follow. According to the National Meteorological Service, the recent rains were caused by the current cold front. San Pedro recorded as much as seven inches of rain, while the data collection station in Belize City reported up to five inches. Chief Meteorologist Ronald Gordon stated that the first cold front should dissipate by the weekend, with the second one approaching early next week.
Gordon noted that this type of weather is not unusual for this time of year. He added that, due to climate change, the rains may be more intense than in previous years.
