Cong MLA Accuses BJP of Offering Rs 100 Crore to Topple Siddaramaiah Govt in Karnataka
Congress MLA from Mandya, Ravikumar Gowda, has alleged that the BJP is attempting to destabilize the Siddaramaiah-led government in Karnataka through 'Operation Kamala,' a strategy involving offers of Rs 100 crore to lure Congress legislators into defecting. According to Gowda, these attempts have intensified, with the BJP increasing the offer from Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore in their bid to purchase 50 MLAs. Despite these efforts, Gowda asserted that the Congress government remains strong and stable, and no MLA is willing to fall for these tactics.
Gowda specifically accused BJP national General Secretary B L Santhosh, Union Ministers Shobha Karandlaje and Pralhad Joshi, and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy of working as a "gang" to topple the Congress government. He mentioned that while BJP brokers have been contacting Congress MLAs daily, the government, led by a pro-poor and popular Chief Minister, cannot be dislodged.
Gowda revealed that evidence is being collected and will be handed over to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He also stated that he has an audio recording of a bribery attempt, which he plans to release at the appropriate time.
