Windows Command Prompt Terminal (CMD) Explained Like I'm in Middle School
The terminal in programming, also known as the command line interface, is used to issue commands to a Windows PC or Mac such as how to open a file/folder, how to delete a file/folder, how to copy/move a file/folder, etc.
The Windows terminal commands differ slightly from the Mac terminal commands in addition to Windows 11 PCs and earlier using Powershell or Command Prompt (cmd) while the Mac terminal uses zsh (Zshell) or bash.
You can download and install the Windows Terminal app from the Microsoft Store or just use the pre-installed command prompt. The Mac terminal is pre-installed on the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini.
