Image-enhanced flow cytometry is a rapidly growing technology which allows biologists to capture both traditional flow cytometry data and morphological parameters in a single sample acquisition. When coupled with the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence, this new data can be used to further separate population subsets even where staining or other isolation procedures are ineffective or otherwise prohibitive.
In this session, we will use the automated image analysis and high-speed data acquisition of the Invitrogen™ Attune™ CytPix™ Flow Cytometer to take a deep dive into several unique populations, further exploring the complexity of immune cell subsets present even in everyday samples. Additional morphological parameters allowed for refined gating which improved the identification of circulating tumors cell in whole blood and enhanced our understanding of CAR-T cell killing by properly visualizing the interacting cells more precisely. With built-in annotation models, high-speed flow cytometry may now be explored in a whole new way, taking data analysis approaches well beyond beautiful pictures.
What you will learn:
• How image-enhanced flow cytometry works and how morphological parameters can be leveraged to analyze samples
• A variety of applications that have been improved or made possible through image-enhanced flow cytometry
• How image analysis provided important insights on cell health and morphology post-sorting
