Lookout Mountain 18 Mile Trail Race - Chattanooga Tennessee Trail Running
Join me on an epic run as I take on the Lookout Mountain 18 Mile Trail Trace on December 16, 2023! This breathtaking trail race starts at the stunning Covenant College campus high atop the mountain and takes runners through a diverse range of terrain and challenges.
🌲 The course offers everything from challenging climbs to highly runnable sections, all on predominantly single-track trails. The 50 and 18-mile races run together for the 18-mile portion of the race, making it an exhilarating experience for all participants.
⛰️ Get ready for some jaw-dropping moments as you navigate two exposed bluff lines with awe-inspiring panoramic views. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of five different states from one section of the trail!
🌊 Along the way, you'll cross or follow no less than five different creeks, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the Lula Lake Land Trust. The trail winds through rhododendron, mixed hardwood, and Hemlock forests, leading you to the majestic 120' Lula Falls.
🔥 Don't miss out on the incredible aid stations where you can refuel with hot soup and experience true Southern hospitality. As night falls, cozy campfires add a warm and inviting atmosphere to this unforgettable race.
🏞️ Even if you're new to trail running, our 10K course promises an exhilarating challenge. The initial flat and fast miles on the college cross-country trails give way to narrow and picturesque trails alongside two separate creeks, with a couple of steep climbs that will push your limits. Whether you're running or hiking, this course is sure to test your mettle!
