June 1944. Nazi troops have encircled Kiev. A task force to quell the wave of crimes arising from the terror and panic among the population is formed at the Kiev Military Prosecutor’s Office. Joining the task force are detectives Ivan Rokotov, Svetlana Yelagina and Nikolay Mirsky. They will have to tread a difficult and dangerous path before becoming a real team, and Rokotov and Yelagina, husband and wife.
