Argiope lobata spider on the territory of the former USSR, it lives in its European part, in the Crimea, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Kazakhstan, in the southern regions of Russia. It mainly inhabits deserts, semi-deserts, and steppes.
It also lives in North Africa (Algeria).

This spider should not live in our Vyazemsky district of the Smolensk region. But here it lives.
