How to connect Ring Doorbell to Echo Show 5.
In this video I will show you how to connect your ring doorbell to your Amazon Echo show so it will automatically show you when someone is at the front door.
I am using the new 3rd generation echo show 5 in this but the steps will work with any echo show device.
To start you need to open the Alex app. Once its open press more and select skills and games. You should now search for ring. Select the ring skill. And press enable to use. Press enable skills and link accounts. You will now be asked to log into your account. The ring skill will ask you to authorise your account.
You should get a message to say the account has been linked. Press next and the app will search for your doorbell. Press next once the doorbell has been found. You can now set up the device.
You can add it to a group but I am going to skip this step. You will then get a message to say that the doorbell is set up and ready to use. You should now select devices and select cameras. Select the camera, so I will select from door.
Press the gear icon on the top right hand corner of the screen. You can now select your announcement devices. These are the devices that will alert you when someone is at the door, You can select as many as you like, but I will just select the show 5 for now.
Press the back arrow to go back. You can turn motion announcements on or off. I leave them off because I find the device is constantly detecting motion. But most importantly I have doorbell press announcements on. You can also select your doorbell sound but I like to keep mine on default.
And your done.
You can now press your doorbell to check that it has worked. You can stop the feed at any time by asking. You can also talk to the person at the door by pressing the microphone button or by asking.
You can also view the camera feed by sliding down from the top of the screen, selecting, smart home going to cameras and selecting your doorbell.
