Ear Helps us in hearing. Learn about the working of the human Ear and its anatomy.

The pinna collects the sound and directed through the outer ear canal. The sound causes the eardrum to vibrate which causes three tiny bones incus, malleus, and stapes to vibrate. The vibration is transferred to the snail-shaped cochlea in the inner ear; the cochlea is lined with sensitive hairs that trigger the generation of nerve signals that are sent to the brain. The brain then interprets the rest.

Learn about the Structure of the Ear.

Pinna- The outer Part, the shape of the outer part of the ear is like a tunnel. It collects sound and directs it into the outer ear canal
External Auditory Canal- Sound travels through this canal.
Ear Drum - at the end of the canal, there is a thin, tightly stretched membrane
There are 3 Tiny Bones in the ear- The anvil (incus), The Hammer (Malleus), and the Stirrup (Stapes) which pass vibrations to the cochlea.
Cochlea- A Spiral Shaped Fluid inner ear structure, it is lined with cilia that move when vibrated. This Vibration Results in the formation of Nerve impulses
Eustachian Tube- It connects the middle ear to the back of the Nose.
