Workspaces and Default Files - Blender 2.8 Alpha Preview
Blender 2.8 Alpha has ditched the old widow layout system for the more sophisticated workspaces. A Blender 2.8 workspace features a window layout, a default mode you are in when switching to the workspace and a preset for shading and overlays.
The default files or templates in 2.8 are even more advanced - they also feature new default objects. Thus you start with a heavily subdivided sphere when choosing the sculpting template and the 2D animation template features a nice 2D stroke to begin with.
