In this video, I’ve taken on the challenge of recreating the classic 1973 intro of Elton John’s "Funeral for a Friend." Originally crafted by engineer David Hentschel on the legendary modular ARP 2500 synth, I’ve used the new Korg ARP 2600 plugin to bring this timeless piece to life.

Using five instances of the Korg ARP 2600 plugin within Cubase and starting with a MIDI file from [ I’ve aimed to stay as true to the original sound as possible. As you’ll hear, the 2600 plugin does an incredible job of capturing the essence of the original.

Stay tuned for my next video, where I’ll break down how I created these sounds step by step. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoyed this recreation!
