Snowboarder gets hip surgery. Story in description.
HIP SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS But the hardest part has just started. Quick backstory: My snowboard career has been an ongoing struggle with injuries frim breaking my back, countless concussions and now 2 hip surgeries. 2 years ago I had surgery to fix a detached and torn labrum in my right hip that’s been bugging my for 7 years. Fast forward to now, the hip capsule adhered to the labrum and tore the labrum again. So I just got surgery to repair the labrum, clean up the scare tissue and break up the adhesion. I thought this was going to be a quick recovery but it’s not the reality. It looks like I’ll be off snow for about 2-3 months.
The hardest part for me is being patient. Snowboarding is my passion, love but it’s also how I survive in the expensive destination mountain town. It’s a hard balance for me to find but I need to do it right this time. I’m tired of being in pain. I’ll be documenting my progress here and there. I really appreciate all the messages and so stoked to have you on my side.
