In today's video, I am going to be showing you how to remotely update your Plex Media server that is running on Linux. It is very easy and just requires a few simple terminal commands, those commands will be found below.
If your Plex Media Server has updates for Plex itself you will know when you log in to your management console through your web browser as it will alert you in the top bar.
Terminal Commands:
yum update – checks the versions of the presently installed software packages and checks if there are some newer versions available in the repositories.
yum localinstall (app name) – Installs update that is in your current directory
shutdown now – shutdown the system
