The Village of Pego on The Costa Blanca http://www.spain-info.co.uk/Costa-Bla...
Pego is surrounded by orange groves, Pego boasts a fabulous climate perfect for growing citrus fruits and rice. The streets conserve their original medieval layout with many houses built into the original old town walls dating back to the 13th century. Pego's most emblematic monument is the Church of the Assumption with a beautiful triptych and a bell tower topped with small cannon. Situated around the church square are bars and restaurants offering traditional Mediterranean cuisine, paellas made with rice from the local paddy fields, fresh fish, seafood and tapas - all served with great wines and desserts made from freshly picked fruit. Some typical local dishes include coconut shrimp with rice crust, rice with beans and turnips and paella with eel and duck.

Sit and listen to the water cascading in the fountains and soak up the atmosphere as the town of Pego comes alive at night.

Pego celebrates a number of fiestas and festivals throughout the year and these include the Moors and Christians (late June), Porrat de Sant Antoni del Porquet (January) and the Pinyata (burial of the sardine).

Pego is situated on the CV-715 just inland from Denia and Oliva.

Pego Weather - Pego enjoys a pleasant Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild pleasant winters.
