Open Air Preaching PETCO Park and 4 Preachers
4 preachers gathered together on the west entrance of Petco Park to hand out Christian literature and preach open air. Within minutes the PETCO security told us to leave or the San Diego Police would be contacted. 3 police showed up to tell us we were not permitted first amendment rights on this sidewalk nor could we video tape our activities. We objected and requested a supervisor. 2 more police showed up and insisted this was the municipal code on this sidewalk. No tracting and no video. After 20 minutes of dialogue we were told they would work with us and permit open air on this sidewalk, if we would put our camera across the street. We reluctantly agreed but would check further on the municipal codes.

I have since found out the municipal codes of San Diego protect religious freedom of speech and tracting on this sidewalk. We will return.
