The IRS has started depositing tax refunds! The filing systems for Form 1040 opened on January 23, 2023. If you file your tax return electronically, and you input direct deposit information to receive your refund, you should expect to see a refund deposit within 7 to 21 calendar days.
If you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), you might have to wait a little longer because of the PATH Act.
