Basic Working: Motor driver L293D is used to drive the DC motors. The Arduino controller is used to control the sensor outputs and transmit the information through a GSM module whose function is to send the signal whenever it detects a crack or obstacle to the base station through an SMS.
Abstract:
Railway transportation is the cheapest and most convenient means of passenger transportation in India, as well as for long-distance and suburban traffic. The most common causes of railway accidents are railway track crossings and unseen cracks in the tracks. As a result, new technology is required for both crack detection in railway tracks and object detection. This technology must be resilient, efficient, and steady. This study examines the use of sensors to identify railway track cracks and is a dynamic solution that incorporates the use of a GPS tracking system to provide alert messages as well as the geographical coordinates of the area. This device's actions are controlled and coordinated using Arduino microcontrollers.
Working:
Initially, the tracks were continuously checked with the use of a sensor that detected a break in the track. Two IR sensors are used to monitor the Track.
When a Crack is identified using an IR sensor, the IR sensor sends Output to the Arduino microcontroller. The Arduino microcontroller will carry out the process that has been allocated to it. Through the use of a GPS module, the location is sent. The Emergency Alert must be taken into consideration as soon as the notification is provided to the Railway Authority. They must take significant steps to prevent future accidents and near-misses that could result in human death or serious injury.
The proposed system is not only has overcome these problems but also improve accuracy and crack detection in rails. It is the most economical solution provided in order to achieve good results of railways of our country in order to minimize the stats of accidents caused. Thereby possible to save the precious lives of passengers and loss of economy. It also saves time and money for the identification of crack.
